How Marketplace savings work

Premium tax credits can lower your monthly premium, based on your estimated household income and household size. Some people also qualify for cost-sharing reductions that lower deductibles and copays on certain Silver plans. Some qualify for a $0 monthly premium plan, if they qualify. Savings are not guaranteed and depend on your eligibility.

Household income examples that often qualify for tax credits

For 2027 coverage, the Marketplace uses the 2026 federal poverty guidelines. According to HealthCare.gov, households with income between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level may qualify for premium tax credits. Approximate yearly household income ranges:

People in householdApproximate yearly household income
1$15,960 to $63,840
2$21,640 to $86,560
3$27,320 to $109,280
4$33,000 to $132,000
5$38,680 to $154,720

Examples:

  • A self-employed person who expects to earn about $30,000 in 2027 falls within the range for 1 person.
  • A couple with two children who expect about $60,000 in 2027 falls within the range for 4 people.

These are examples, not a promise. Being in the range does not guarantee a specific amount of savings, which depends on your income, household size, age, ZIP code, and immigration status. We show you the real numbers when we review your application.

Florida has not expanded Medicaid. If your household income is below 100% of the federal poverty level, you may not qualify for Marketplace savings, and it’s worth a careful review of your options. We’ll do it with you.

Important 2027 change based on immigration status

According to HealthCare.gov, starting January 1, 2027, the only noncitizens who qualify for Marketplace savings are lawful permanent residents (green card holders), Cuban or Haitian entrants, and COFA migrants. Other lawfully present people, such as those with TPS, can still buy a Marketplace plan, but without tax credits. Bring your documents and we’ll review your situation with you. We do not give immigration advice.

Carriers we represent

We compare plans from the carriers we represent in Palm Beach County, so you can see options side by side in one appointment. We do not offer every plan available in your area.

Your hospital and your doctors

Many people in and around Lake Worth use hospitals such as HCA Florida JFK Hospital (formerly JFK Medical Center), Good Samaritan Medical Center, and Bethesda Hospital East and West. Networks change by plan and carrier, and no plan automatically includes a particular hospital. Before you choose, we check whether your hospital and doctors are in that plan’s network.
